Launchy

Version: 2.0 || Release Date: 2008-12-07 || License: Freeware App Owner: rchk

Launchy is a free windows utility designed to help you forget about your start menu, the icons on your desktop, and even your file manager.

Launchy indexes the programs in your start menu and can launch your documents, project files, folders, and bookmarks with just a few keystrokes!

NB: if you include shortcuts to network share in your Launchy catalog and these shares are unreachable, Launchy might become unresponsive for several seconds (until system timeout I guess)

An essential utility; rids you from ever having to click on the start menu to find a program or document to launch. The algorithm for finding things to launch is extremely effective.

Love it! Running this skin: http://e-llustrate.deviantart.com/art/Sleek-WMP-79009623 Perfection! Now I can use windows again! (Quicksilver addict)

I strongly disagree. I have tried many of them, but Find and Run Robot (farr) is the best IMHO. Although it's not open source.

The closest thing to Quicksilver available for XP

For anyone who has never used Quicksilver on a MAC Launchy is the next best thing for the Windows side.
