Pidgin stores your passwords in plain text in accounts.xml file (only if you check 'remember password')

Facebook now supports the xmpp/jabber protocol:

Warning: with version 2.6.4 I can't connect via a proxy anymore. (Tested with google talk, msn and yahoo.)

So I went back to 2.6.2, that had memory leakage problems (360 MB ram usage), but at least connects. :)

[windows xp pro sp3, privoxy 3.0.12, forwarding to the company's proxy]

The Musictracker plugin works well to display your "now playing" track on msn, google talk, facebook, etc (not yahoo afaik) from Spotify, Last.fm feed, foobar2000, and many other media players.

I haven't been able to find an IM application that I like as much as Pidgin. And I've been looking for over a year.

Actually it does support Facebook chat, via a third-party plugin:

The portable version is here: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/pidgin_portable

Doesn't support facebook chat yet (afaik), whereas Adium (Mac) does.
