The Musictracker plugin works well to display your "now playing" track on msn, google talk, facebook, etc (not yahoo afaik) from Spotify, Last.fm feed, foobar2000, and many other media players.
If you want to check out an app later, or want to recommend it to your
friends, you can use our del.icio.us
integration by clicking the blue/black icon at the bottom.

I haven't been able to find an IM application that I like as much as Pidgin. And I've been looking for over a year.
Actually it does support Facebook chat, via a third-party plugin:

The portable version is here: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/pidgin_portable
Doesn't support facebook chat yet (afaik), whereas Adium (Mac) does.
